Hypnotherapy and Anxiety

There is a creeping epidemic spreading across our society.

It’s mostly unseen; we hardly ever spot the symptoms, especially in a stranger.

It makes our lives lives less pleasant; it dulls the once bright edge of our happiness.

It poisons our relationships; it makes us less able.

It’s slowly killing many of us.

It’s called anxiety.

Henry David Thoreau once said, “Most people live lives of quiet desperation.”

I think he meant anxiety.

In part it’s because we are reminded of our mortality every time we watch the news. It could have been us standing in the crowd enjoying the Boston Marathon. It could have been us who were killed in that head collision, or those bush fires.

The low level sensation of threat is ever present.

Until, finally our subconscious gets the message that the world is a dangerous place. We enter a state of mild hyper vigilance.

And we stay there.

We are now permanently anxious.

It can become a loop. wee become anxious about our anxiety, and the problem gets worse.

Hardly a day goes by that I don’t see a client suffering from anxiety.

The good news is that because the problem lies in our subconscious, there is an effective, safe, painless and side effect free solution.

Hypnotherapy.

Using hypnosis, I work at the level of the subconscious to retrain it.

You see, the subconscious is always acting to protect us. And because we see so much that’s threatening, our subconscious seeks to protect us from those vague and varied threats.

By helping the subconscious to find more helpful, positive strategies, a skilled hypnotherapist can end that sense of vague but imminent danger.

Add to that  the teaching of a few simple self help tools and my clients say goodbye to their anxiety and regain the full pleasure of their lives.
